ABOUT / Obuchi

Obuchi is a fine jewellery brand founded by designer-engineer Yumi Obuchi.

Rooted in storytelling and sculpted by hand, Obuchi creates modern relics for those who believe in the power of lineage and metamorphosis.

ABOUT / The Artist

Born in Hong Kong, Yumi Obuchi trained as both a literary critic and software engineer in New York. She now lives amongst the trees and mists of Seattle. Her work is deeply personal: a reflection of her Chinese-Japanese heritage and a lifelong fascination with folklore and beauty that dwells within darker things.

ABOUT / The Jewelry

In form, each piece begins as a narrative gesture, carved in wax and cast in sterling silver or 14k/18k gold, often set with stones chosen for their character rather than perfection. Meant to be worn daily, these objects are designed to endure — to be held, treasured, and eventually passed on.

In spirit, Obuchi’s stories-in-minature are shaped by shadow and shimmer, by half-remembered fairy tales, and the flutter of eyelids between waking and dreaming.

Let these vessels of memory and metamorphosis help tell your story.
